Myosotis
You've died at the hands of your (now ex) boyfriend, Ethan. Filled with a mix of sorrow, confusion, and rage, you decide to spend your afterlife haunting him in the hope of getting an answer from your murderer. However, you're only given more questions as you realize you're not the only ghost following him around...

Myosotis contains mentions or depictions of death/dying, murder, flashing lights, a partial jumpscare, and a character kissing another character's corpse.
As a side note, there is a slight romance with one of the characters. However, it is not the main focus of the story. (The romance is not with the corpse kissing character)

i played this game a whole while ago but came back because it was so peak :) so i had one question because it wasn't really made clear? ethan {no spoilers guys} takes something from the mc when they kill them and stuff them in the cabinet, and its only briefly mentioned after that, so what was the item? if my memory serves me, the mc was just holding files, so it shouldn't have to do with the bag... ANYWAYS SORRY IF IM JUST DUMB I REALLY LOVED THIS WHEN I FIRST PLAYED IT AND STILL DO ITS ONE OF MY OGS :)))

ABSOLUTELY LOVED IT!!!! VNS with death themes will always be my favorite!!! I actually had so many theories... 1 was that our bf, "Ethan" aka Jude got possessed hence he killed us and that Doe is the real Ethan, bcs reading the context of the game ik that there's another soul, only I thought that soul is our actual bfs soul, so not that far off from the truth! My second (the worse one yet) theory was "Ethan" and Doe were in a secret relationship... And "Ethan" killed Doe out of guilt and since he's this ever so perfect student, he didn't like having Doe around as a reminder that he's imperfect, bcs, well, gay--but damn am I glad I was wrong.
AGAIN I ABSOLUTELY FREAKING LOVED IT, sobbed too, cuz wdym me and the actual Ethan can't have a proper marriage since we're dead?:( Well, as my coping mechanism I shall HC that we got reincarnated and LIVED (no dying this time) happily ever after, with four kids, 2 dogs, and 2 cats:3
Honestly hope we got to see mc/us get their justice... Hope Jude suffers forever and ever, ain't no way he did that to my Ethan.

it was really fun but I started it at 1:00 pm and ended at 3:00 pm so if you like to read and like novels this is for you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (noted the time it took me to finsh is crazy and the time 1:00 pm and 3:00 pm is just one of the ending lol) 10 out of 10 would try again lmaoooooooo
The fact that I played this at exactly 1:20 am and finished at exactly 3:15 am, but I'm not complaining since I actually want more Ethan content ><

accidentally posted my review in the wrong place (lol) but i DEFINITELY recommend this game!! the art was phenomenal, the darker part of it is incredibly intriguing, and the writing is so so so detailed! i love how this doesn't focus on romance as its sole purpose and has a minimal amount of it. you can tell the creator spent a lot of time on this & i've really never seen an idea like this :-) the editing style in the scarier parts reminds me of the game 'parasite in love', only this game is less unsettling ^^
the justice ending was cute, like at the end but finding Ethan's body gave me the shivers. but other than that, I like the justice ending more then the revenge ending
what path did you take? i swear i took every path and couldn’t find the body (i was specifically looking for it)

This game was truly a masterclass in mood and atmosphere, the writing, the art, the sound, and those phenomenal tooltips coming together hand in hand to make a truly elite story of justice and revenge.
Gosh, it's just so beautiful inside and out, the way you add that little hint at the end in the "not quite intended" ending that is further confirmed in the "likely optimal" ending, the themes that you know I just can't get enough of, the sense of dramatic timing... I just can't get over it, the music was so good I felt like I was playing one of the classic murder mystery VNs, and I'm not talking Danganronpa, we're going HIGHER than that.
Goodness gracious, may inspiration and a team like this find me one day because each and every one of you absolutely killed it!
THIS GAME IS SO PEAK OMG i found it and decided to sit down and play it on a whim- best decision ever omg. the plot is so interesting and unique, i haven't seen a VN like this before!!!! :)

What happened to mc's body? Was it found? We saw Ethan's funeral, but is mc still missing?
Why did Jude kiss mc's corpse? The game clearly tells us that he doesn't care about us, he ignores mc all the time, brushing off any attempts to talk and this little detail really makes me wonder why he did that... Just because he's a psycho? (If I remember correctly, he laughs when he gets caught by the police)
What was Jude scared of? As I understand, the mysterious figure was mc's friend and Jude was actually scared of him because that friend started to stalk him, am I right?
And one last not very important thing, it's not only about this game but why revenge always means bad ending...
I would also like to know the answer to these questions!! (please)(I genuinely need to know what happened to the mc)
Also, why did he killed Ethan? And the MC?

I have a theory on what might be the reason Jude changed all of the sudden and decided to kill MC. At the start of the game we were 'snooping' around in the morgue; looking through old files, etc. and then not long after Jude suddenly came in and questioned what we were doing and looked at the old files in our hand, then he got scared like maybe we found something. Possibly referring to how later in the game in that same morgue we found the bag of ID's, leading to Jude not being Ethan and Doe being the real Ethan. Jude obviously couldn't ask straight up if MC found the bag so instead of asking maybe he killed her to be safe?
( Also sorry if I didn't get some details right, I don't have the best memory. )
I thought of the same thing and I think Avery was the one who sneaked in his room to find anything that leads to the MC
